I really wanted to like these freezer pots. They are a perfect size for baby food. They stack nicely. They have this really cute little flexible bottom that's perfect for popping frozen food out.

But...

The lids are hard to get on and off, and when I accidentally knocked a couple of them out of the freezer and they fell on the floor, the little pots shattered. This is after only a couple of uses.

I'd love to see them made out of a sturdier material that doesn't get so brittle when frozen -- seeing as how they're supposed to be designed for freezing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just right, December 26, 2010

I was looking for a small container to put salad dressing in for lunch... just like baby bears porridge- most containers are either too large or too small for my purpose. Then I discovered these gems !!! Just right! I like the snap lid and the flexible bottom on them.. I am sure I will find a million and one uses for these little guys. Wish they had them when my kids were babies... there would be great for small portions of baby food.. ( their original intent)

I purchased this product along with 4 other types of babyfood storage containers. I really wanted silicone trays/containers but I am so glad I ended up trying these. They are durable plastic but the bottom easily pops the frozen food right out. The lids are difficult to get on and off at first, but that just means they dont pop off. I highly reccomend vital baby products, I am about to order more! Cheaper here than any other place too!

3.0 out of 5 stars HomeMade Baby Food, May 5, 2007
This review is from: Fresh Baby So Easy Baby Food and Breast Milk Trays (Baby Product)
These trays are nice, but the lids don't fit very snug. Once the food freezes though, I stick them in labeled Ziploc baggies. If you want snug lids, I recommend Tupperware brand ice cube trays. Also keep in mind that if you are making foods that don't freeze solid (like apricots and prunes), it is impossible to remove the food in these trays. For those foods, I recommend flexible trays and just carefully wrap plastic around it. Overall, great price though and it does work good enough for me. But because of the lids, I won't rate it higher.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love these!, June 27, 2009

I have 4 of these trays and have been using them for 3 months to freeze baby food. They are fantastic!

MEASURING- Each cube is 1T, which is great for measuring. For example, for lunch my baby gets 2 cubes of meat, 2 veggies, and 2 fruit. Some people complain that the cubes are too small, but if they were bigger they would take longer to defrost. I think the size is perfect.

QUALITY- Some complain about warping or poor fit. I haven't had that problem at all and I use these a lot. I wash them by hand in hot soapy water. I couldn't fit them on the top rack in the dishwasher if I wanted to...all those darn baby feeding bowls and bottles!

EASY- Put frozen cubes in labeled zipper freezer bags. If they don't want to come out of the tray, just turn the tray over and run some hot water over it for 10 seconds. I take what I need out of the freezer and put them in little bowls the night before and they're thawed for the next day. If I forget I just microwave for... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Ice Cube Tray with Lid, October 8, 2006
By
M. Pong (CA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This product is just simply a standard ice cube tray with lid, only with smaller rectangular ice cube compartments. Each cube compartment only holds 15ml, not 30ml as advertised.

When I received these trays in the package of two, one was defective from the start. The lid would not seal onto the tray before freezing. The plastic on the lid was somehow defective and after trying for 30 minutes to get the lid to stay on the tray, I gave up and returned the product.

If the the lid actually stayed on, and each cube compartment really held 30 ml (not 15ml), it might be a good product.

I'd advise that you just buy a regular ice cube tray or a silicone one from Ikea and use that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Probably the one of the best containers for baby food., June 7, 2010

This review is from: Fresh N Freeze 2 oz. Reusable Baby Food Containers 12-Pack (Baby Product)
Since I make our baby food at home and we travel a lot I was looking for containers that were safe for baby and would withstand the perils of travel. I looked around for baby food containers, even bought the Baby CubesTM 2 Oz. containers, but these came out as the winner.

    Why you want these:
    1. The screw on lids are great. They stay put on the bumpiest rides so there are no spills, plus it seals in the freshness.
    2. BPA free so you know its safe for baby, even if you want to pop it in the microwave.
    3. Great size. The 2oz mark is ideal for any baby. Use only once container of food if you baby is smaller, more than one if baby (and her appetite) is growing.
    4. You can use these to make fruit pops once baby has outgrown baby food. Just fill with pureed fruit, stick an ice cream stick in the center, cut place holders to keep the sticks in place from cardboard and freeze for a healthy and delicious snack.
    5. You get 12 containers for a little under... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Homemade Babyfood Storage Out There, February 1, 2010
This review is from: Fresh N Freeze 2 oz. Reusable Baby Food Containers 12-Pack (Baby Product)
One main feature sets this set above all the rest - they are SCREW tops, not pop tops like the others. Pop tops will make nothing but messes when they pop open unexpectedly. I pull a serving out of my freezer in the morning, throw it my diaper bag with a baby spoon, and off I go. The screw tops keep my puree securely in the jar, so they never burst open in my bag like the pop tops. I highly recommend these to any parents who are making their own baby food.

I purchased these on a different website to avoid paying the outrageous shipping costs. I had many of the similar problems that others have talked about here. I do a lot of canning, freezing, buying bulk, etc. I used freezer jam jars for jams and thought it would work great for my little one. What I would recommend especially as baby eats more and more is Ball Freezer Jam containers. They are similar to this product but 8oz size, a whole lot cheaper, stackable, and can be found on Amazon or in a local grocery store. All of their plastic jars and containers are BPA-free plastic and are dishwasher safe on the top-rack.

Jars are stackable and lock together for a tidy freezer
Twist on lids seal in the freshness and prevent leaking
Freezer safe - straight jar sides allow for food expansion during freezing
